CAMP O’FUN

For: Rising Young 5 to Grade 9
Cubhouse Campers: Young 5 & Kindergarten
Playhouse Campers: Grades 1-3
Clubhouse Campers: Grades 4-9
Dates: Tuesday, June 22 to Friday, August 27 (Monday-Friday)
Time: 7:15 a.m. to 6:15 p.m.
Cost: $230 a week for 5 days for residents; $240 a week for non-residents; $50 daily rate

SUMMER CONNECTION — NEW!

For: Rising Grades K-12
Dates: June 22-Aug. 12 (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday)
Time: 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Cost: No cost to GPPSS students

In this free program open to all GPPSS families, teachers have custom designed courses that emphasize enrichment, inquiry and fun. The focus is recharging and engaging students while reinforcing essential skills for a successful return to school in the fall.

The program runs in four two-week sessions:

Connection Enrichment 1: July 6-15
Connection Enrichment 2: July 20-29
Connection Enrichment 3: August 3-12

HIGH SCHOOL SUMMER LEARNING PROGRAM

Grosse Pointe Public Schools will again be partnering with St. Clair Shores Adult and Community Education (SCSACE) to provide opportunities for our high school students to earn credit through their 2021 Summer programming. Classes will be offered both in-person and virtual.

CAMP INVENTION

For: Rising Grades K-6
Dates: June 28 to July 2
Time: 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (Before and After Kids Club available 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 to 6 p.m.)

Think creatively. Build confidence. That’s the motto of Camp Invention, which has been providing fun and safe summers for more than 30 years through STEM activities. The program is offered online at home or in-person at Pierce Middle School.

SUMMER MUSIC THEATER WORKSHOP

For: Rising Grades 7-8
Dates: June 21 to July 2 (Monday-Friday)
Times: Monday, June 21 to Friday, June 25, 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; Monday, June 28 and Tuesday, June 29, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Wednesday, June 30 and July 1, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Performances: Friday, July 2, 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Cost: $410 (fully refundable up to June 11)

GP SUMMER MUSIC FESTIVAL

For: Rising Grades 5-8
Dates: July 6-16 (Monday-Friday)

Cost: $85 for primary courses; $55 for extension courses (must be enrolled in primary courses to take extension courses)

The Grosse Pointe Summer Music Festival is open to all currently enrolled GPPSS band and orchestra students in grades 5-8. This exciting and affordable local program provides an opportunity for students to further develop their instrumental skills. Extension courses to band and orchestra include jazz band and fiddling.

ANNUAL SHOW CHOIR WORKSHOP

For: Rising Grades 5-12
Dates: Saturday, Aug. 21 to Friday, Aug. 27
Times: 8 a.m. to noon (grades 5-8); 12:30 to 5 p.m. (grades 9-12)

South athletic camps are run by South coaches in a fun and supportive atmosphere with a focus on skill development to prepare participants to compete successfully. Options include cross country, field hockey, girls’ soccer, boys’ and girls’ lacrosse, swimming, track and field, volleyball and youth field hockey.

Our mission is to equip our youngest learners with the tools they need to remain calm and safe during emergency situations. Your child will meet local police and firefighters, learn tips and tools to use in a real-life fire situation, and explore a range of safety topics.
