My name is Elizabeth Moses. I have a Bachelor's degree in Choral/General Music from Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana. I also have a Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Saginaw Valley State University, Saginaw, Michigan. I have enjoyed teaching music to Metro Detroit elementary children since 1992.
Currently, I am the vocal director of Trombly's "Avenue B" 4th and 5th grade choir. This is a group of 40-50 students that meet during lunch on Wednesdays to rehearse music for a variety of performances. Avenue B has four perfomances a year, plus a pizza party in the fall and an end of the year field trip to C.J. Barrymore's in the spring.
My philosophy for music education is that all students are capable of learning and enjoying a variety of music throughout their lives. Music is universal and helps promote higher achievement scores. Singing or playing an instrument enriches and enables students to learn. Even listening to music, such as Mozart promotes brain growth in infants. Our brains are wired to learn.....music helps our learning increase.
