GPPSS Learning Plan

Dear GPPSS school community,

Thank you for the unprecedented support as together we plan to meet the challenges of providing a safe and healthy learning environment for our students and staff. Your creativity and candid input have helped develop this draft plan, whether you shared via email, calls, social media posts or public comments, or you are among the 59 members on the committees dedicated to:

  • Safety

  • Structure

  • Learning

In line with the Governor's Return to School Roadmap, the three committees have developed our GPPSS Return to School Plan for remote, hybrid, and face to face learning. There are embedded links within the document such as the Learning Plan Video, that are also attached to this email. Many decisions, including some of the most fundamental aspects regarding school structure and safety, will be made for GPPSS by governmental agencies. Those decisions will be impacted by where our region falls within the Governor's phases (currently our region is in phase 4).

A great deal of time has been spent by our teachers, administrators, staff and families reflecting, researching, and collaborating on best practices to move from surviving last spring to thriving this fall. We are ready to meet this challenge and will continue to adapt. A presentation will also be made at the July 27th Board of Education meeting which will be held in person, if possible, and will be livestreamed. Please use this google form to share your feedback on our current Return to School Plan by July 27.

Cognizant that we must bridge the gap from where individual students ended last year, to our goals for them this year, please know that every effort will be made to provide the consistent experience of educational excellence you expect from our schools -- whether in person or online.

Regardless of the instructional environment (remote, hybrid, and face to face), our emphasis remains on relationships. We acknowledge very real anxiety amidst all the uncertainty.  In every environment, we prioritize a sense of belonging and safety, while showing empathy to others whose experiences and concerns differ.

We are in this together,

Your GPPSS Administrative Team and Return to School Committees
