Poupard air quality results are safe (second round results are in)

The Grosse Pointe Public School System received positive news from Testing Engineers and Consultants, Inc. (TEC).  A laboratory report for the volatile organic compound (VOC) samples collected on August 1 and a second set from August 14, 2019, are in and all VOC compounds were well below EPA screening levels. Attached is a summary spreadsheet of the August 1 results along with the EPA Sample Screening Levels for comparison. Attached here are the August 14 results.

TEC also conducted a first round of dust monitoring at Poupard Friday, August 16. They downloaded the logged data from the instruments and prepared a summary spreadsheet along with the EPA Ambient Air Quality values for PM2.5 and PM10 for comparison. All locations were also well below the EPA values. That spreadsheet is also attached.

Three locations were tested at Poupard: on the East playground by the service drive, on the west playground, and inside the building near classroom 103 which is closest to the expressway. The district will continue to update the community as additional rounds of testing come in, but we are delighted to report these results. Thank you for supporting these efforts to provide a safe and secure learning environment for our students and staff.
