Please do not copy all on these emails! We should not be deliberating via email.  It does violate the OMA regardless of what some may think. We have been counciled by MASB that as a board we should not be replying all and our President Mr Summerfield has repeatedly asked us not to do this
    Thank you

    Hello Jon,
I see no reason for you to  put something together with Mark. As a committee we need to discuss existing policy to see if we already have a clear policy that eliminates our sanctions or participation with 501 (c) 4 organizations. I am disappointed that new policies come to the Committee already in draft form before we even discuss the merits of necessity.
The use of legal council has morphed into a given expense. Legal council is not part of the Policy Committee and should be called in when and if council is needed. Also, we should not be paying legal fees on any policies that come from NEOLA....we already pay NEOLA for that service.
I would like the list of all outside organizations that we approve of such as  PTO organizations ,PTO council,  mothers and fathers clubs, booster clubs and any non-profit organizations. I am asking for a list of their names and non-profit status. We do not need legal council for this. The list is already generated  Also a list of the non-profits that we pay legal or any expenses for. Just give us this list for the past two school years 2016-18 and the costs. This list should also be generated or filed together and no reason for legal fees.
I have asked for this information several times and have never received a complete list.
Please give us the policy numbers that deal with non-profit organizations so that none are overlooked.

    Dear BOE members,

As the administrator who supports the BOE Policy Committee I occasionally have a reason to email either the entire committee (Weertz, Pangborn and Profeta) or a subset of the committee regading upcoming policy committee items.  At times these emails include formal documents (i.e. meeting agendas or drafts) while at other times they are more informal in nature.

GPPSS is in receipt of a 'subscription FOIA' from a BOE member that has requested that all emails from administration to any member(s) of the policy committee be provided to that member per the FOIA law.  Instead of now sending material to the 3 members of the committee (or less if the email was intended for fewer members) and one additional BOE member via the subscription  FOIA, I will instead send each BOE member every email I send to any member(s) of the policy committee regarding BOE policy.

Below is an email that I sent Cindy and Margaret yesterday.

    Thanks

    Jon

So that I can accurately describe on the agenda the policy you are seeking regarding 501(c)3 organizations and their relationship with the district could you provide me in email a brief description of what you are looking for?  I'll take that description and work with Mark on some options.

    Thanks

    Jon
