The Be Kind Club

Dear Trombly Families,

We are in year 3 of The Be Kind Club at Trombly and are enthusiastic about our upcoming kindness projects. Many of our projects do not have a cost attached but some do (i.e. gifts for children in the hospital). To help us fund some of our projects, we will again be collecting elementary friendly returnable cans the last Friday of each month-- 9/28, 10/26, 11/30, 12/21 (3rd Friday), 1/25, 2/ 22, 3/29, 4/26, 5/31. Please send cans to school with your child on those dates. The drop off will be near the main office. Adult friendly cans can also be donated by contacting Dr. JB- Johnsod@gpschools.org or 313-432-5292. Thank you for your support.

Trombly Terrier Leadership

Students in 4th and 5th grades will have the opportunity to apply for several different leadership roles at Trombly. The vision of Trombly Terriers Leadership is to spark student ownership of the school community, leadership through service and develop a collaborative school culture. The different opportunities include Kingdergarten Helpers, Leadership Team, Green Squad, Town Hall MC, Library Assistants, WTRO, Trombly Tech Team, Gardener, and Trombly Tutors. The applications have been distributed to all 4th and 5th Grade students and are due Friday, September 28. Contact Ms. O'Meara or Mrs. Ozar if you have any questions.

Box Tops for Education

Trombly will be participating in the Box Tops for Education program this school year. Box Tops are worth 10 cents each and quickly add up to real cash for our school. To help our school, look for pink Box Tops on products, clip them and send them into school. More information is being sent home today.

Autism Awareness - Sensory Baskets

Thank you Trombly community for your generosity. During Autism Awareness week we have shared facts about autism at Trombly and also sold autism awareness bracelets. With the donations collected, we are happy to present a Classroom Sensory Basket for every classroom at Trombly. These sensory baskets have a variety of sensory tools that can be used to both calm and stimulate a child’s sensory system. These tools can reduce stress or sensory triggers and help the child regain focus and control in their classroom. Again, thank you so much!
