    Today in class:
    • Took our MINERALS test--written and lab portions.
    • No HMK :)
    • Now is a great time to make sure your binder is organized (mineral assignments completed and placed in chronological order) before we move on to the new unit--"Economic Geology"--which will be the title of your next tab.

    • We reviewed objective notes for the unit.  We filled in 2.11-2.16
    • we checked/corrected/discussed "More Mineral Review" (KEY)
    • we checked/corrected/discussed "Atomic Structure"(KEY)
    • HMK:  STUDY for TEST TOMORROW!  (you should review your notes, your assignments (be sure to check the keys above!), and your science tips. Reviewing the assigned reading is also very beneficial! (ch 8 and 9)

    • We reviewed content regarding minerals and objective notes 2.6-2.15
    • discussed difficult questions from crossword and Monday night's homework
    • created a graph of the periodic elements 1-30 in class. (hmk if not finished)

    Today in class:
    • We had a guest teacher. 
    • In class we worked on a Minerals crossword puzzle and turned it in.
    • We also had a minerals review handout that is HMK and is due tomorrow. 
     
    Looking ahead, please prepare for a Minerals Unit test this Thursday and make sure you have read Ch 8 and 9.
     
    You also may want to come to a practice lab session on Wednesday after school from 3-4 for either a make-up lab or extra practice before your test!

    • We took the Practice Mineral ID Practical (lab test)
    • We also finished reading Ch 8 (pp 138-151) and filled in Objective Notes 2.6-2.10. This is HMK if not finished in class!!

    • we finished the Mineral ID lab and I gave all the correct answers for each lab group to check your work and make adjustments to your tests and observations
    • we had a POP BINDER CHECK! I checked for labeled tabs, science tips completion, and general organization.
    • worked on #1 and #2 on the concept map on the back of the lab
    • began reading ch. 8
    • HMK: finish reading Ch 8

    • LAB--Mineral ID:  identified 12 unknown minerals by observing and testing their different properties
